If you’ve been struggling to hear, especially in places with background noise like cafes, family gatherings or your local fitness centre - but you’re still not sure whether hearing aids are “worth it”, a free trial is the simplest way to find out.

Free hearing aid trials are an ideal starting point for everyone - those of us who already wear hearing aids that just “don’t seem to work as they used to”, as well as those who are exploring the idea of hearing aids for the first time.

Are you missing out on your favourite sounds?

For some people, the struggle with hearing loss is obvious - the TV creeping louder and louder, or that familiar feeling of missing out during conversations. For others, it’s more subtle: you’re coping… but it’s tiring. You might start avoiding busy places, withdrawing a bit socially, or missing the small moments that you love, like birdsong in the mornings or the happy giggle of a grandchild.

Enjoy better hearing in 14 days!

A no-obligation hearing aid trial is a simple step that enables you to find out what today’s advanced hearing technology can do to help you enjoy clearer hearing again - whether that means upgrading to the latest AI-Powered hearing aids, fine-tuning your current devices, or trying hearing aids for the very first time this blog will guide you step by step through the process.

Hearing Aid Trial Summary

Interhearing’s free 14-day hearing aid trial is a simple, no-obligation way to find out whether modern hearing technology could help you (or a loved one) hear more clearly — whether you’re trying hearing aids for the first time or you already have NHS or private hearing aids which don’t seem to work as well as they used to. You’ll be able to test-drive the latest advanced hearing aids in the moments that matter most, from family conversations and phone calls, to church, the car and noisy cafés - all with friendly, personalised support throughout.

In this guide, we explain the trial step by step: starting with a free hearing test, choosing the right hearing aids for your needs, and wearing them in real life for up to 14 days, with a professional follow-up appointment for fine tuning.

At the end of your trial, the decision is entirely yours - keep them if you love the difference, adjust or try a different option if needed, or simply return them with no pressure to buy.

Start with a Free Hearing Test

Your free hearing aid trial begins with an up-to-date hearing test with one of our experienced audiologists. Whether you currently wear NHS or private hearing aids, or you’re just thinking about it, a hearing test is the best place to start and assess your current hearing levels and needs.

You’ll receive your results at the appointment, and there’s plenty of time to ask questions and talk through your next steps.

Don’t worry, there’s no obligation to try hearing aids just because you’ve had a test - think of it as a health check for your ears, just like your regular check up at the opticians or dentist - but if you do want to go ahead with a free hearing aid trial you can discuss this with your audiologist at your appointment.

It’s easy to book your free hearing test or trial with our experienced audiology team, simply call 0800 002 9503, enquire online or contact our customer care team via email at contact@interhearing.com.

A Relaxed, Friendly Appointment

When you choose Interhearing for your hearing test, we keep things relaxed, professional and straightforward.

At your appointment, your Interhearing audiologist will:

  • Chat with you about your hearing and the situations you find hard - for example, hearing in groups or noisy places, watching the TV or talking on the phone.

  • Carefully examine your ears to check for earwax build-up or anything else that may be affecting your ears and hearing.

  • Test your hearing in a quiet room and explain your results in clear, everyday terms.

Depending on your results, we may recommend:

You’re always in control of what happens next, so feel free to take your time to think about your options and ask any questions you may have.

You are also welcome to invite a family member or trusted friend to your appointment to help and support your next steps.

Choosing the Right Hearing Aids for Your Free Trial

If your test shows that hearing aids could help you with clearer hearing, and you would like to explore your options, we will help you find the right hearing aids for your free trial.

As an independent audiology service, we have access to all of the latest technology from AI-Powered hearing aids to invisible in-the-ear styles from every leading brand, including Starkey, Oticon, Phonak, Unitron, Bernafon, Widex and more - so you really do get to choose what is best for you.

Your Interhearing audiologist will help you every step of the way by:

You will also have time to ask questions, try your hearing aids on and make sure they feel comfortable before you leave the clinic. We’ll also take time to show you how to look after your hearing aids and our customer care team will continue to support you all the way through your free trial.

Better Hearing in 14 Days - Your Free Hearing Aid Trial

Next comes the important part of your trial: **trying out your new hearing aids in real life! **

During your hearing aid trial, we encourage you to wear your new hearing aids in the situations that matter most to you, such as talking with family and friends, attending church or social groups, listening to music or enjoying the great outdoors.

We help you to record your experiences

We provide a helpful booklet to support your trial, record your experience and note down any questions you might have for your audiologist. Notes can be really helpful when we see you again to discuss your trial.

People often note things like “conversations feel less of a strain” or “the TV volume is more comfortable for everyone.” They also report feeling less tired after social events and more sociable and feeling included in group and family conversations.

If you like to be tech savvy, you can choose to record voice notes on your mobile device and bring these along to your follow up appointment too.

A Little Each Day

Sometimes it can take a little bit of time to get used to wearing hearing aids or trying different styles, if that’s the case, it can be a good idea to build up your hearing aid use a little each day. This helps your brain to relearn how to focus on the sounds you want to hear (like speech), while filtering out background noise, and you will find that your hearing becomes clearer, comfortable and more natural over time.

A Follow-up Visit With Our Audiologist

A follow-up appointment is part of your free trial, so that we can chat through your experience and make any fine-tuning adjustments you feel would be beneficial (it’s very normal to make fine adjustments at this point, especially as you get used to new technology)

At this visit, we will:

  • Chat through your experiences of different hearing situations

  • Make any fine-tuning adjustments for improved clarity and comfort

  • Answer any questions you (or a family member or friend) might have

  • Look at alternative options, if you feel that another style or modelmay suit your hearing needs more fully.

You Decide

At the end of your free trial, it’s entirely your choice what to do next:

  • If you love the difference your new hearing aids make, you can chat with your audiologist about our free lifetime aftercare, warranties and affordable, interest free plans for your choice of hearing aid.

  • If you’re unsure, we can adjust your hearing aids further, or even try a different style or model and continue your trial period.

  • If you decide that hearing aids are not for you right now, you simply return them – there’s no obligation to buy.

Our aim is simple: to give you the time, support and clear information you need to make an informed decision you feel comfortable with and help you enjoy life with better, clearer hearing.
