After doing some research I came across interhearing with their glowing reviews.After previously suffering a long period of ear infection due to poor diagnosis from my doctors surgery namely by the so called advanced clinician that works there.I had to endure many weeks and months of trying to irradicate this infection which actually turned out to be 2 infections and 4 trips to ENT Telford to have my ears microsucted over an 8 week period.Once the infection was gone I wanted to find someone to keep on top of my ears being clean especially as I was going on holiday and didnt want further problems with trapped water against ear wax.This is where Judy from interhearing stepped in. I found her knowledge and advice to be extremely helpful as well as a superb bedside manner.The microsuction was done in a matter of minutes and was pain free.She advised me that if I get an infection again, then make an appointment and we will get rid of the nasty stuff and then perscribe what is needed so as to directly target the area.I shall be making a yearly visit just before any foreign holiday so they are plane and pool ready.Thanks again Judy.

We have 2 locations in Shrewsbury. One is based at Radbrook Green GP surgery and the other is at Marysville Medical Practice in Belle Vue.

With full ground floor wheelchair access to our clinic. Free parking is conveniently located in a large car park at the front of the building with disabled parking bays directly outside the entrance.

Public transport

There is a bus service from town that stops just outside the Co-Op car park at Radbrook and at Marysville the bus stops on Belle Vue Road by Lunts Pharmacy.

What kind of hearing aids are available?

We fit the latest technology in all the styles, from small custom made hearing aids that fit in your ears out of sight, to rechargeable hearing aids with Bluetooth technology that connect to your phone for taking phone calls and playing audiobooks or music. We even fit hearing aids that fit on glasses and hearing aids that send sound to your ears via bone conduction.

How long will it take to get used to wearing hearing aids?

It typically takes time for people to adjust to wearing hearing aids as your brain gets used to amplified sounds.  We call this the acclimatisation period. It can take anywhere from just a few weeks to 3 months to fully acclimatise to wearing hearing aids.

Is it necessary to wear two hearing aids if I have hearing loss in both ears?

For those with hearing loss in both ears, using two hearing aids can significantly improve the ability to localise sound and understand speech in noisy environments. Our Shropshire & Wolverhampton audiologists can provide assessments to determine if binaural hearing aids are the right choice for you

Do hearing aids use special batteries?

Some hearing aids have rechargeable batteries, while others use disposable ones. Battery life varies based on the type and usage but in general disposable batteries last for from 3-4 days for the smallest hearing aids and 5-7 days for the larger hearing aids.

What’s the difference between private hearing aids and NHS hearing aids in Shropshire?

NHS hearing aids are free and are a good option for many people. Private hearing aids are paid for, and offer a wider choice of brands, styles and features, such as rechargeable, Bluetooth-connected and more discreet models. NHS hearing aids usually need a GP referral, and waiting times vary by area. At Interhearing, you can book directly without a referral, and we can usually test and fit your chosen hearing aids within a couple of weeks.

How long will my hearing aid last?

Typically, hearing aids have a lifespan of 5 to 10 years. However, this can vary based on the model and how well they are maintained. If you to outdoor sports or hike a lot making use of the great countryside in Shropshire then you may benefit from waterproof hearing aids. These will also last longer when exposed to the elements and need less maintenance. At Interhearing, lifetime aftercare is included with all our hearing aids.
