Saw Julie for ear wax removal but was difficult due to a recent ear infection. She was very caring and arranged for me to return when my ear was better. Some time later I returned and my ear was clear, but Julie had managed to remove most of the wax on the first visit. She is a lovely lady and we had some amazing chats. Many thanks Julie. I will return should the need arise.read more

Brilliant! If you suffer from ear wax build up, then you'll know the usual scenario - slowly your hearing deteriorates and you start to enter your own private world, isolated from everyone else. So you ring the doctors to organise an ear syringe and (if your doctors surgery is as busy as mine) they say 'sorry, the nurse can't do it for 2 weeks' and you end up putting oil in one ear for all that time, pretty much removing what final hearing you had left, so you go completely deaf on one side. Then you get your one ear syringed and if you're lucky all the wax comes out, but if it doesn't, you have to book a second appointment. Then, once you get one ear sorted, all you have to do is repeat the whole process again for the other ear! For me, the overall result is that, on average, every 10 months or, so I lose my hearing in one ear or the other for a complete month. Well, not any more! One simple trip to Interhearing (sometimes with SAME DAY appointments available) and I am good to go. John is superb - very diligent / thorough and the process itself isn't painful (just quite loud sucking noises, because it's close to your eardrum). Twenty minutes or so and I have perfect hearing again in both ears. John then books you in for a second appointment a week or so later (all within the standard charge) to check that everything has settled down OK. No waiting, no oiling, no hassle. Absolutely superb - the best £65 I've spent in a long time!read more

The whole experience was very positive from making contact to the completion of the treatment. The office staff were friendly and efficient, there was a change of venue and they made absolutely sure I was aware of it. The consultant gave me a full explanation including showing me photos. He completed the treatment sensitively showing me pictures of the result and followed up with further advice. It was a relief to be able to hear again!read more

The Procedure

Quick and Safe Microsuction Ear Wax Cleaning, Performed by NHS experienced ear car professionals. No need for weeks of ear drops before treament.

The microsuction technique uses gentle suction to clean the ear, and is much safer and more comfortable than all other forms of ear cleaning, including syringing and irrigation. No need to use ear drops for weeks before treatment, just the night before and morning of treatment. A small, thin probe is directed at the ear wax in the ear canal, and then gentle suction is applied to slowly remove the ear blockage.

If it is not possible to clear the ear completely at the first sitting, then you can come back to see us for free follow ups until the job is done.

Microsuction Ear Wax Removal - Interhearing

Why is Ear Wax a Problem?

Ear wax can cause discomfort, dizziness, pain and hearing loss. Removing it alleviates these issues and brings a greater feeling of wellbeing.

Removal of wax is especially important for users of Hearing aids as the earpiece often blocks the natural migration of wax out of the ear and the build up of wax causes the hearing aid to begin to be ineffective.

What is Micro-Suction?

Safe, Comfortable, Instant and Affordable Ear Wax Removal in Telford

When it come to earwax removal cotton buds just makes things worse and syringing can cause severe discomfort and other side effects such as infections and vertigo.

If you want to get the wax out, the safest and most comfortable way to do it is by microsuction. Unlike syringing an ear to remove the wax, with microsuction there is no need to wait until the ear is totally blocked with wax and and you won’t need to use ear drops.

Here’s what some of our patients near Telford have said about their service:

I had a lot of trouble with wax and used to get my ears syringed every 4 months. I was fed up of having to wait until they were totally blocked before they would syringe them and having to use drops for 2 weeks before. Then I found out about microsuction, so much better and Interhearing’s Audiologist was great. Didn’t even need to use drops. Best ever.

Mr Henderson

So much faster that getting my ears syringed. The man who cleared my ears was kind. They saw me quickly and before I knew it my ears were clear again and I could finally hear. I would recommend this to anyone like me who has trouble with blocked ears.
