Don’t Use Cotton Buds!
When it comes to earwax removal, cotton buds just make things worse. If you want to remove ear wax, you can do this via ear syringing or microsuction.
Microsuction is a far better option than syringing. Unlike ear syringing, with microsuction there’s no need to wait until the ear is totally blocked with wax and you can’t hear. At Interhearing, we can remove wax at any stage of build-up, and you don’t need to use any ear-drops.

My little girl who is 5 yrs, has been suffering with wax in her ears, she was on the nhs waiting list but this was a 2 year wait unfortunately.We decided to Google and interhearing came up, I sent an email I was pleasantly surprised how promptly my email was dealt with, I had a telephone call, spoke to to the nurse and decided to proceed with an appointment. I had blocked ears! It was causing me distress because I couldn't hear well. I'm a musician. I tried to clear them using otex, as recommended by the chemist. Judy at InterHearing was brilliant, she painlessly removed the build up of wax from both ears. When she found that I needed another appointment, she offered for me to wait until the next patient had been seen and then cleared my other ear. This saved me another 60 mile round trip! I still got to work on time. What a lovely service with Judy who is very skillful, kind, enthusiastic and so helpful.

When I booked I wasn't sure whether my hearing had deteriorated or I had a build up of wax. Judy soon assured me it was wax! Efficient and friendly service. The experience of my ear wax removal by micro suction was comfortable and effective. As a musician, I have been receiving this treatment on a yearly basis at a reputable ear clinic in London. This was my first experience of micro suctioning. Was given an appointment at Warrington Jubilee Hub on the day after my inquiry. Everything went to plan. The wax was removed within a few minutes,painlessly and quickly. The nurse (Jo Jo) was very helpful,charming, and efficient,and professional. I’ve no hesitation in recommending this procedure/service. I suffer from Tinnitus and was worried about adverse effects.....there were none at all and Jo Jo took great care. Excellent....thank you!

The Ear Wax Removal Procedure
Microsuction is a quick and safe way to remove ear wax. At Interhearing, microsuction is performed by NHS experienced ear car professionals. The microsuction technique uses gentle suction to clean the ear and is much safer and more comfortable than all other forms of ear cleaning, including syringing and irrigation.
With microsuction, there is no need to use ear drops for weeks prior to treatment, just the night before, and the morning of your appointment. A small, thin probe is directed at the ear wax in the ear canal, and then gentle suction is applied to slowly remove the ear blockage.

Why is ear wax a problem?
Ear wax can cause discomfort, dizziness, pain and hearing loss. Removing it alleviates these issues and brings a greater feeling of wellbeing.
Removal of wax is especially important for users of hearing aids as the earpiece often inhibits the natural migration of wax from the ear. This build-up of wax can reduce the effectiveness of hearing aids.

What is micro-suction?
